In 2008, Toronto will play host to one of Canada’s fastest growing university-level Model United Nations conferences. The York Model United Nations Conference 2008 is an event
not to be missed by anyone interested in international affairs, business, politics or the United Nations. Our goal is to provide a fertile atmosphere for heated debate,
positive ideas and networking for future leaders.
We have the privilege in Toronto of being able to bring together one of the most diverse groups of young people in the world. Our conference will therefore reflect this unique
situation and provide an unparalleled setting for discussing the world’s most pressing issues, as well as meeting and engaging with people who have widely divergent ideas and
viewpoints. Our social schedule will also offer the opportunity to relax and unwind together after exciting and fast-paced sessions, and to discover Toronto’s hottest and
most exclusive clubs.
With committees ranging from the traditional General Assembly and Security Council, to innovative and cutting edge simulations of the Canadian Cabinet and a Crisis Committee
the likes of which no one has ever seen. We hope to capture the interest of a wide range of delegates and address current issues that are shaping, and have continued to shape
the world as we know it.
The York Model United Nations Conference 2008 will be one of the finest university-level conferences in Canada, building on the growth and success of our previous events over
the last several years. We are proud to be the Chargé d’Affaires of this conference, and look forward to putting to work the vast previous MUN experiences for the benefit of
all delegates. It is our sincere hope that you will enjoy the weekend as much as we will.
We hope to see you all in 2008!
